SHOW STATEMENT:

​

Celebrate the beauty and significance of Our Lady of Guadalupe and Tonantzin in our December art show. This is a wonderful opportunity for artists to share their interpretations and tributes to these important cultural figures.

 

Through a diverse array of artistic mediums, this exhibit celebrates the deep cultural significance, resilience, and beauty that these revered women represent.

 

Our Lady of Guadalupe, a symbol of faith and hope, and Tonantzin, the Aztec earth goddess, embody the spirit of nurturing and strength that resonates within our communities. This show invites artists to explore and express their interpretations of these figures, showcasing the rich tapestry of stories, emotions, and connections that they inspire.

 

We look forward to showcasing your creativity and honoring these powerful symbols together. Don’t miss this chance to be part of a meaningful celebration!

DEADLINES & DATES: 

  • Online Submission:  Nov. 27th by 6pm

  • Drop off: Dec. 1st  from 10am-12noon 

  • Pick up: Dec. 29th from 10am-12noon

  • Fees: none

  • Showing artists must pick-up and drop-off on scheduled dates


LIMITATIONS: 

  • Eligibility: Open to all CHAC artists (Must be a current CHAC Member)

  • Theme: Honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe and Tonantzin   

  •  Submission Limit: Artists may submit up to 2 pieces. Please note that depending on the number of entries received, we may only be able to accept 1 piece per person.

  • Presentation: All submitted works must be ready for hanging (wired, etc. no saw tooth)

  • Art must be family friendly 

  • All entries must be for sale

  • CHAC will take 30% for commission 

  • Showing artists must gallery sit or pay $25

  • Repeat art may not accepted 

  • Please contact the curator if your piece is larger than 16” x 20”

  • Sculptures are accepted 


SHOW RULES: 
Liability and Responsibility, CHAC and its partners will take reasonable care in...

  1. Handling all entries but will not assume liability for loss or damage.

  2. A signed waiver is required for all entries.

  3. Showing artists must pick-up and drop-off on scheduled dates

  4. Art submissions may be used by CHAC for promotion

Artwork Submission Process

Please ensure that you complete both steps.

STEP ONE:
Please click link in STEP TWO to make sure your image uploaded! If you don't have google if may not let you. If it did not upload, please USE STEP TWO TO UPLOAD YOUR IMAGES!

STEP TWO:

Please note, your images MUST be titled with your name and the title and dimensions of the artwork. (To rename JPEG files, right-click on the JPEG image on your computer, scroll down to ‘Rename’ and click, and then re-title your file with the correct naming convention).
