SHOW STATEMENT: 

​

Lowbrow art is the ultimate form of expression for an artist. It is also known as pop surrealism. Nothing is off limits, from Ratfink to comics to political satire. Lowbrow art often uses humor or sarcasm. “I saw an awesome show at the Harwood Museum curated by Greg Moon and others… to me it’s the next level in Art! It’s fun and heady. Stevon Lucero taught me years ago that artists are nothing but reporters of what we see in society, it is a playful way to comment on what we see.”

DEADLINES & DATES: 

• Online Submission: Wednesday, April 23rd by 6 pm 

• Drop-off: Sunday, April 27th from 10 am-12 noon

• Pick-up: TBA 

• Fees: None for CHAC members (must be a CHAC member to show)

• Showing artists must pick up and drop off on scheduled dates

LIMITATIONS: 

• Eligibility: CHAC members only 

• Theme: Must fit Low Brow theme (see show statement)

•  Submission Limit: Artists may submit up to 2 pieces. Please note that depending on the number of entries received, we may only be able to accept 1 piece per person

• Presentation: All submitted works must be ready for hanging (painted edges, wired, etc. no sawtooth)

• All entries must be for sale

• Size Limit: No pieces larger than 16x20

• CHAC will take 30% of the commission 

• Repeat art may not accepted

SHOW RULES: 

Liability and Responsibility, CHAC and its partners will take reasonable care in...

1. Handling all entries but will not assume liability for loss or damage

2. A signed waiver is required for all entries

3. Showing artists must pick up and drop off on scheduled dates

4. CHAC may use art submissions for promotion
